Mortality

I believe at some point we all face the reality that we are mere mortal beings living an earthly life. Our lives here on Earth are only temporary, while our souls will live on as immortal beings. The problem comes when we ‘humans’ forget this reality as Truth and focus on the pain or happiness in the here and now. Those of us with the spirit tend to think or live differently. God has gifted us with His spirit. That’s why we don’t think the same way that people of this world think. As we live our earthly, temporal lives we strive to Christ-like, but understand that cannot happen without His spirit. You can’t buy or earn your way to becoming a born-again Christian. It’s a gift, offered through His grace as you mature in Him. You must truly seek to be One with Christ, often giving up your worldly desires. Mortality is only for the Earthly bodies we inhabit. The soul that lives within the body is immortal and will last forever. We mourn the dead only because we lose sight of their immortality. They are only gone from our sight – This too is only temporary. We will SEE them again as only the bodies are Mortal!
