Surrender Anxiety

Philippians 4:6-9 ” Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank Him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. Keep putting into practice all you learned and received from me—everything you heard from me and saw me doing. Then the God of peace will be with you”

I think I may have mentioned my Ephesians 3:20 moment before. Which states that God will provide exceeding more than you could think or dream. He did this for my husband and I on our final move. He provided the land (where my husband wanted, the acreage and woods I wanted, well/septic installed already, electricity pole – these basics are expensive to add, but they were included in the price! Also included, a 900 sq ft center-block Shop – husband’s dream and a perfect spot with direct sunlight for a pool – my dream) We had enough money to get it ALL! That was a blessing that certainly exceeded anything we could have dreamed!

BUT Before ALL that could happen – I had to surrender All I had, All I was in my mind and All I thought I needed to be or needed to have! I started with the Philippians verses first to remind you – Your Thoughts Matter, Your Dreams matter, Your Peace matters. and Your Prayer Life Matters. What You Do Matters! How you think Matters! We don’t get to walk through life as if our actions don’t matter because they Very Much Do Matter to the ONE who Cares! God Cares, God Loves, Jesus gives Life, Love and Peace. This is offered to YOU freely, but you must Do One thing – Accept Jesus as your savior and lay all those burdens/anxieties on Him. He will carry them for you – I PROMISE! I cannot say that if it were not true! The True spirit Never lies!

We will go through ups and downs and as I have said before – mostly these are not fun, but Necessary! The bills to pay, the jobs to attend, kids to tote from here to there and life to live (all the other Necessary things life requires) Adulting Sucks as the saying goes!! Now, when life gets to be too much – Good News, you have somewhere to take that Anxiety – To God in Prayer! Most often He will answer you in the spirit (a new thought may arise or a memory perhaps) I don’t know how God will choose to answer you, but I know He will in the simplest of ways that an ordinary person would miss. It may be a sign out of place or a flower blooming where no life should be, maybe it’ll be the slightest breeze across your face that suddenly offers a peace you didn’t know you could feel. All you need to remember is God Loves You, Jesus Loves You and they are rooting for you! You are more precious than the birds in the air and God takes care of them. How much more will He care for you?

Lets pay more attention to our thoughts and our attitudes. Maybe stop and ask yourself often – where have your thoughts been, what have you been focused on or thinking about often? Consistently take time to think about the actual thoughts you are allowing in. If those thoughts are not bringing happiness or progress, then its time to change those thoughts. Misery is created out of negative thinking. Just because something bad happened or could be possible does Not mean you have to miserable or unhappy. Depending on each situation a period of grief or grieving may be necessary, but remember Not to stay there! Take time in the Word, allow God to speak to you there. I know you’ll find Him there if you cant’ seem to quite ‘understand’ the coincidences that often go unnoticed because we aren’t focused on the little things. I’ll leave you with this: Happiness is Contagious. If you choose Joy always, even in hard times – You could be the Person that saves someone else drowning in what you’ve already gone through.

From When God Winks at You by Squire Rushnell “When someone’s lost, aimless and adrift, Take the time to give’em a lift. Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, But Today, you can be their gift!”
